About Tee

Headshot of Tee, a Tee - business consultant for service based business owners

Business Consultant for Service-Based Business Owners

I’m Tierra Wilson. Most people call me Tee. I’ve been self-employed for 15 years. Never had to get a job.

I’ve worked with MyFitnessPal, Under Armour, Google, GoDaddy, Hewlett-Packard, and 500+ clients across every type of service-based business you can think of.

I designed the pitch deck for a $475 million acquisition. I raised $1 million in grant funding before I was 25. I built a multi-six-figure agency while raising a kid as a widow in a city where I knew no one.

I’m not a coach. I’m not a guru. I’m a strategic business consultant who has personally executed at every level, and now I help service-based business owners build the systems, operations, and positioning that let them scale without burning out.

If you want someone who tells you the truth in a way that makes you actually want to listen, we’ll get along just fine.

How I Got Here

I started as a branding and web designer. I was good at the work and terrible at running the business. My first $10,000 client felt like I had made it. Then I did the math. Three months of work. That was $3,000 a month. And when the project ended, I had zero clients lined up. I spent the next month scrambling to find work, and then the cycle started all over again.

Feast, famine, feast, famine. For years.

The turning point was when I stopped thinking of myself as a creative and started thinking of myself as a business owner. I stopped designing websites and started building the sales systems, the marketing strategy, the client onboarding, the operations that made the business actually run. I became the conductor instead of the person playing every instrument.

Everything I teach now came from that shift.

Consulting & Advisory Work

I’ve spent over a decade consulting for some of the most recognized brands in the country.

MyFitnessPal & Under Armour — Six years embedded in their marketing departments, managing content across multiple teams. I designed the pitch deck used when MyFitnessPal was acquired by Under Armour for $475 million. My work was featured in Self, Time, and Buzzfeed.

Google Small Business Advisory Board — Founding member. Contributed to Google’s 2016 Economic Impact Report on small business.

GoDaddy Pro Council — Member for 5+ years. Beta testing products, mentoring partners, and leading conference panels.

TrackMaven — Data visualization and design consultant for the marketing insights company that powered 400+ of the world’s leading brands. Translated complex analytics into case studies, reports, and ebooks.

United States Postal Service — Developed and ran mobile marketing webinars for USPS business customers across the Southwest. Thousands of small business owners attended.

What I’ve Built

Lovely Impact — Award-winning marketing and design company for coaches and consultants. We created 50+ pieces of original content every month, generating over 5 million monthly views across digital platforms.

Tierra Wilson & Co, Branding & Web Design Agency — 7+ years building brands and websites for hundreds of small businesses around the world. Featured in Real Simple Magazine and Phoenix Magazine.

VP of IT at Joy Corporation — Created the first community technology center in Louisiana. Raised $1 million in grant funding in approximately one year. Recognized by Microsoft and the Governor of Louisiana.

Louisiana Rebuilds Steering Committee — Organized relief efforts and advised on rebuilding strategies after Hurricane Katrina, serving over half a million displaced residents.

Style Director for Phoenix Fashion Week — Fall 2009 season. Oversaw style, communications, and fashion show production. Appeared on ABC, FOX, and Sonoran Living.

Youngest Adjunct Professor at Baton Rouge Community College — Teaching computer literacy to Fortune 500 employees while barely out of school myself.

What I Do Now

I consult with service-based business owners who are stuck in the feast-or-famine cycle, overwhelmed by client work, or ready to scale but can’t figure out the operations side. I focus on sales and marketing strategy, business systems, client onboarding, offer structure, and pricing.

I’ve worked with over 500 clients doing this work and I’ve seen the same patterns over and over. The business owners who build systems, prioritize sales and marketing, and learn to lead instead of execute are the ones who make it. The ones who keep doing everything themselves burn out. Every time.

My consulting work includes 1:1 Power Strategy Sessions, a monthly group program called Strategic Circle, and a VIP Weekend Intensive in Pittsburgh for business owners who want to get everything done in a weekend.

I also host Friday Strategy Sips every week. It’s a free live consulting session where service-based business owners show up, ask questions, and get real strategy. Every Friday at 6:30 PM ET.

Outside of Work

When I’m not consulting, I’m usually somewhere eating. I’ve visited every borough in New York for the food. I’ve eaten my way through Barcelona, Mallorca, Oakland, and all across the South. The best meal I’ve ever had was in Oakland, and I will talk about it if you let me.

I document everything. Cities, hidden spots, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, the places locals actually go. Over 5 million photo views on Google Local. Travel and food are my thing.
